If you had told me a year ago that I'd be launching a Christian apparel company, I probably would have laughed.
Not because I didn't believe in God—but because I didn't believe I was the kind of person God would use.
The truth is, Half Holy & Half Hood wasn't born out of a business plan. It was born out of brokenness.
For a long time, I was exhausted in every sense of the word. I dreaded going to work every morning. I was overworked, overlooked, underappreciated, and mistreated. The stress followed me home, affecting my health, my relationships, and the joy I once had. Every day felt heavier than the last, and I honestly couldn't see a way out.
Then one ordinary morning, while sitting there trying to delay going to work, I did what so many of us do—I started scrolling through social media.
I came across a simple reel.
It wasn't flashy. It wasn't professionally produced. It wasn't even a sermon.
It was just one question.
"If I asked you who and what you love, how long would it take before you listed yourself?"
I didn't even have to think about my answer.
The answer was... never.
In that moment, I completely broke down.
For the first time, I realized I had spent so much of my life pouring into everyone else while believing I wasn't worthy of the same grace, compassion, or love. I had forgotten that I, too, was one of God's children.
That single question became the catalyst that changed my life.
Sometimes God doesn't need thunder to get our attention. Sometimes He uses something as simple as a thirty-second video.
When I reached what felt like rock bottom, I finally did the only thing I hadn't truly done before—I gave it to God.
Not halfway.
Not conditionally.
Completely.
And it's amazing what happens when you stop trying to force your own path and start trusting His.
Almost immediately, things began to change. Doors started opening that I wasn't even knocking on. Opportunities appeared that I wasn't searching for. Within a month, I had accepted a new job. My stress began to fade. My health improved. My relationships became healthier. It wasn't because my life suddenly became perfect—it was because I finally had peace.
God had been working all along.
He was simply waiting for me to let Him lead.
That experience taught me something I'll never forget:
God can use the smallest moments to completely redirect a life.
A conversation.
A stranger.
A song.
A Bible verse.
A meme.
A reel.
An article.
A T-shirt.
Anything.
That's one of the biggest reasons Half Holy & Half Hood exists.
This isn't just an online clothing store.
It's an opportunity to share hope.
The name "Half Holy & Half Hood" reflects something I think so many of us feel. Many of us come from difficult backgrounds. We've made mistakes. We've struggled. We've carried shame. We have stories we'd rather forget.
But our past doesn't disqualify us.
Jesus doesn't wait until we're perfect before He calls us His own.
He meets us exactly where we are.
Whether you grew up in church or on the streets, whether you're covered in tattoos or wearing a three-piece suit, whether you've walked with Christ for decades or you're just beginning to ask questions...
You are seen.
You are chosen.
You are loved.
You are enough because of Him.
Our apparel doesn't ignore the darkness people have walked through. Instead, it points toward the hope that can only be found in Jesus Christ. Every design is created to start conversations, encourage believers, and remind people that God's grace is bigger than their past.
I hope that every shirt, hoodie, or hat becomes more than something hanging in your closet.
Maybe someone standing behind you in line notices a message on your shirt.
Maybe a coworker asks what it means.
Maybe someone sitting across from you on the bus has been praying for a sign that God hasn't forgotten them.
Maybe they're scrolling through life the same way I was that morning.
Maybe your shirt becomes the reminder they needed.
Because that's how God works.
He uses ordinary people in ordinary moments to accomplish extraordinary things.
If one design encourages one person...
If one conversation points someone toward Jesus...
If one message reminds someone that they still have hope...
Then this store has already accomplished more than I ever could have imagined.
Thank you for being here.
Whether you're buying your first shirt, sharing our designs with a friend, or simply reading this blog, you're now part of this journey.
My prayer is that Half Holy & Half Hood becomes more than a brand.
I pray it becomes a movement of people who aren't ashamed of where they've been because they know whose they are.
People who proudly wear their faith.
People who understand that God's grace is sufficient.
People who know that no matter what their story looks like, redemption is always possible.
Welcome to Half Holy & Half Hood.
Let's wear our faith boldly.
Let's start conversations that matter.
And let's remind the world that God's grace reaches every heart—holy or hood.
